Better days ahead

I was looking forward to the nice long weekend and spending it with my daughter and husband in which we had no "real" plans. As it turns out, by Monday I was ready to go back to work! Tara was unusually whiny and clingy. She had a low grade fever on Thursday and Friday but with new teeth coming in I wasn't too worried. By Sunday, she was throwing up and not sleeping good at night. Therefore, I was not sleeping either. Coincidentally, we are working on getting the idea of "sharing" into Tara's current, copy cat life but sharing the flu with her father wasn't exactly what we had in mind. Monday was George's turn. Meanwhile, I had hurt my back while trying to lift Tara up during her "need to be within touching distance at all times" mood. Thank goodness we have Yager! (the dog, that is) He was the only one who could soothe Tara and give me a minute to myself!

Everyone is feeling better now, except my back, which I threw out attempting to vacuum last night! Oh, well. I am going to have Dr. Glavich fix it tomorrow!
7 days to go! I am so ready!

Countdown!

Being a school teacher I get to look forward to the summer months in a different way than other people with regular jobs. I say regular with no harm intended. Just meaning that since I am brave enough to be in charge of 25+ pre-teens, I am deemed worthy of having a couple months off! Of course, just because I am not working, does not mean I won't be busy. Being home with our one year old is work enough. A week after school gets out we will be attending our close friends' wedding in PUNTA CANA!!! Yeah, it's okay to be jealous! Actually, this is our second destination wedding. Last year we went to Mexico to celebrate Tara's Godfather's wedding. We had a blast and got some much needed rest after 4 months with a colicky baby. Thanks to Grandma and Papa Nyeholt! They must have enjoyed it though or they wouldn't be babysitting again for us this time. Of course, Tara is a very chatty toddler so it makes for a more enjoyable time.

10 days to go!

Bringing you up to speed...

Okay, let's back up a little bit. I will tell you how we got to where we are now. George and I met over 9 years ago. We grew up in the same town and went to the same high school. The end of my senior year we began dating. I then went away to college at Michigan State University to pursue something with children. Meanwhile, George (who knew a little more about what he wanted to do with his life than I did) was becoming an entrepreneur and started his own roofing and siding business. After one year at State I transferred to Saginaw Valley State University where I met some great friends and eventually graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. George and I continued to date and after some time (6 years to be exact!) he decided I was worthy of being his wife! On April 29, 2006 we were married. The following year we welcomed a beautiful little girl into the world, Tara Nichole. Currently, I am teaching fifth grade and George continues to excel with his business. I think that about does it.

Trying something new...

Okay, this is all new to me and I will try my best to spell correctly and use the correct grammar! I will warn you though that I have 18 days of school left and then I take a break for the summer, this means my brain temporarily slows down and takes a break also. However, I am afraid my brain may be still somewhat be lost due to lack of sleep and a demanding toddler! More to come, my husband informs me that House is on!
